Marvel’s Captain America

This winter I worked on some of the Stereoscopic Compositing for the upcoming feature film Captain America. Look for it in theaters and go see it in 3D! Shot breakdowns coming soon.

Marvel’s Thor

The powerful but arrogant warrior Thor is cast out of the fantastic realm of Asgard and sent to live amongst humans on Earth, where he soon becomes one of their finest defenders.

This year I got to work on one of the biggest summer blockbusters. Working at Stereo D as a Stereoscopic Compositor and Depth Artist we painstakingly converted Thor from 2D to 3D.

Eulogy Titles

Working with ‘Eulogy’ Director – Akash Kingston Louis Gilbert, I created a 1:45 second opening credit sequence. I wanted to convey the emotion and distressed feeling of the film in the titles. Eulogy was shown at the Court Metrage 2010 Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner to an International audience of critics, distributors and industry professionals.

Sundance Film Festival

Adobe Real Ideas Studio invited me to participate in the 2009 Sundance / Slamdance Film festivals to help produce two short documentaries. The first one, ’8′ is a short about proposition 8 in California, and how Utah Mormons affected the vote. The second is about a local man in Park City, nicknamed Dirty Dan. Give em’ a watch. I produced both of the titles and end credits for both shorts as well as worked as crew for filming and production and assisted in editing, and producing.

Hall Legacy Films

Offering my creative services to a friend, Matthew Hall of Hall Legacy and the new short Dark Horizon, I created a 15 second intro for his newly founded production company. This intro premiered before the feature presentation of Dark Horizon March 19, 2009 at the Lido Theater in Newport Beach.

About

In a gallery of archetypes of Seth Gantman you would find the portraits of a motivated artist, a practical, hands-on and devoted engineer; or perhaps the bust of a visionary or dreamer, maybe even the forms of a Clown, making people laugh, or cry; entrusted to the most powerful of circles communicating through his work.

Hey there! My name is Seth Gantman and I am a motion designer, animator and visual effects artist living and working in Los Angeles, most recently on some big feature films! – Thor and Captain America. I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design, with a BFA in Broadcast Design and Motion Graphics. I love to use a combination of mediums including live action, motion graphics, typography, photography and illustration to achieve production and design objectives.

In addition to Motion Design and Production, I also volunteer my time with the Adobe Real Ideas Studio program, a non-profit organization that seeks to define “real world experience” as a global collaborative and cultural immersion within mentored creative arts programs at the Cannes Film Festival and Sundance Film Festivals. My role has since expanded to be the Digital Content Manager and an Alumni Mentor, helping oversee the digital content and marketing of the program as well as mentoring student filmmakers and designers in motion graphics and production roles.

I have had three short films at the Cannes Film Festival, and two at the the Slamdance Film Festival at Sundance; as well as had work in the Short Film Corner at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival.
